Alternatively, can also focus on Stealth Crimes (which are slightly random), but going invisible with Miles is the easiest option. If an enemy shows “Danger” when aiming at him, it means doing the takedown will get you spotted, so avoid this. Check all enemies in an area to take them out one by one in stealth. You can still do it after the story in the open world, enemies keep spawning infinitely in Crimes (you can go invisible as Miles and focus on stealth Crimes which are random).
Insomniac easily could have simply reused the map from Spider-Man and Miles Morales. A mostly accurate recreation of New York City, with certain buildings missing and other ones added. This moment is one of the most emotional moments in the game, as it shows Miles moving on from the loss of his father and trying not to let his grudge against Mister Negative consume him.

In reality, Harry had secretly bonded with the Venom symbiote, which hid within Harry’s body, with its origin revealed to be from a meteorite recovered by Oscorp years prior. After learning Peter is Spider-Man, Harry uses the symbiote to help his best friend fight crime and help people around New York. The symbiote was first glimpsed at the end of Marvel’s Spider-Man, albeit within a stasis tube, and bonded to Harry Osborn to stabilize Harry’s terminal illness.

These segments show off basic game mechanics like gadgets and suit customization, as the story takes a break before the excitement picks up later in the first act. By the middle of the first act, players will be reunited with Peter Parker’s best friend, Harry Osborn, the son of Norman Osborn, an iconic Spider-Man character who later becomes the Green Goblin. But out of this expansive rogues gallery, Venom is the magnum opus that reprises every emotional note the rest of the game has played.
If you want you can already collect during the story what is available but this will lead to more backtracking. The collectibles are all outside in the open world where you can free-roam. They all get marked when unfogging the map, except Spider-Bots which are not marked. To unfog the map you must go everywhere yourself and it will reveal everything in a radius around you (there are no sync towers to unfog the map).
On PS5 in 2023, Spider-Man 2 at least served as an impressive technical showcase for the hardware, and a blockbuster release in a relatively quiet release schedule. My hope for this sequel was that with the core action already perfected, there would be the space to improve on the wider formula, creating a more interesting New York playground. Instead, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 simply has more stuff—a bigger story, more pointless collectibles, sprawling skill trees, and double the Spider-Men. There are skills for Peter, skills for Miles, and shared abilities — and absolutely everything can be upgraded in one playthrough. Individual skills will benefit one character or the other, while the common tree will enhance both. Development includes increasing health, damage, acrobatics, and recovery speed of moves. After a large-scale prologue that immediately grabs attention, the plot focuses on the confrontation with the antagonist Kraven the Hunter, who wants to eliminate all superheroes and supervillains. As the struggle with him unfolds, the narrative shifts its focus to Norman Osborn and his son Harry, who suffers from a mysterious illness. The city’s loading has been accelerated, and now you can switch between heroes in the app or teleport quickly in just a couple of seconds.
Despite being awash with paramilitary criminal organisations, New York has never felt more toothless and dull. Dialogue has this odd faux-wholesome tone, like you’re trapped in a corporate training video—all careful politeness and empty one-liners. Even in emotional outbursts and tense confrontations, there’s no edge to anyone or any sense of an inner life. They’re so blandly nice it tips over into being unsettling—you keep getting that feeling like everyone’s waiting for you to leave so they can badmouth you behind your back. Where the first game starred Peter Parker, and its spin-off starred Miles, this one has both. Story missions choose for you, but often swap seamlessly between them as the action demands.
