That was never a problem though as the game is constantly introducing new things for you to use to show off that controller and it feels really good all the way through. Every level has you trying to reach the goal at the end while collecting gold coins along the way. Puzzle pieces are hidden about in each level too that when collected will fill in murals back in the HUB area. Time trial levels can be unlocked later and competing with others online to see who can finish a level in the best time can be quite addictive. The PlayStation 5 even gives me notifications when I get online if someone on my friends list beat my score which makes me want to keep jumping back in to take my spot back. The trophies in Astro Playroom are categorized by difficulty‚ with bronze being the easiest and platinum the most challenging.

Miscellaneous Trophies in Astro Playroom reward unique actions and challenges‚ such as specific jumps or interactions.

This references the Castlevania series, specifically 1997’s Symphony of the Night on PS1, by Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo. Nearby the Horizon easter egg is an island with a bot making a blocky T. The game is about making assets and even entire games from scratch. At the start of GPU Jungle, check along the left-hand side between two trees for a lower section with four Bots with various weapons on their backs huddled around a campfire.

On another table in the Labo area is a purple dragon surrounded by red Gems. This is a reference to 1998’s Spyro the Dragon on PS1, developed by Insomniac Games. Spyro’s wings notably use the inaccurate anatomy present in the original game; later titles gave it correct bat anatomy. Horizon has a second reference with the “Ready for the Proving” Trophy, awarded for shooting a Spitter’s shot with the bow and arrow in Raytrace Ruins. Um Jammer Lammy gets a second reference in the “It’s All in the Mind” Trophy, awarded for beating three enemies quickly with Punches. This is a reference to Chop Chop Master Onion, who gives Lammy this piece of advice early in the game.

After going through a small round room with Shock Orbs in it, you’ll go up a tall shaft with fans trying to push you into Shock Walls. When you get to the very top, look in the background to spot two bots playing “Bot Fighter”. This is a reference to Street Fighter, Capcom’s famous fighting game franchise that debuted in 1987.

There are five challenging Gold Trophies in Astro Playroom‚ focusing on speedruns and special challenges. These require skill and precision to unlock‚ making them rewarding achievements for dedicated players. There are 14 Silver Trophies‚ focusing on core story completion and collectible-based achievements. These trophies reward progression through levels and discovering hidden items.
